Have you ever found it hard to start a conversation with someone about Jesus?

If you have, you are not alone... Most of us find it hard to share our faith with those around us, most of us struggle to know how to kick off a conversation about Jesus. We know that God has called us to tell people about him, but we find it pretty daunting just getting the conversation started.

If that sounds a bit like you then maybe its time to try a different way of talking about life and faith with someone you know, and where better to start than simply inviting someone to see a movie at a local cinema.

Movies are great at bringing the big themes of life to their audiences, and more often than not, provide some pretty helpful places to start a conversation with the person you watched the movie with.

So, we're going to give something new ago that might help us start a conversation about faith with someone we know... we're going to the Movies and we're asking if you'd like to bring someone with you for a fun night out, with a short panel of film experts and Me (Sturt - who loves movies), who are going to spend about 25 minutes after the movie, getting us to think about some of the big themes that our movie brings to the box office.

Our expert panel includes Danniebelle and Brendan from the 103.2FM breakfast program and Ben McEachen, also from 103.2FM, who comes from a film background. And Sturt is there becuase he loves watching and talking about movies... pretty much any movie.

How can you get involved?

On Sunday 16th March we are having a short equip session at St John's Mona Vale (1:30 - 3:00pm), where Russ Matthews from Real Dialogue (Click HERE for details) is going to help us think through how we can use things like movies to spark off the conversations we'd love to have with people about life and faith. All you need to do is let Sturt know that you're coming so we make sure we have enough popcorn and lolly bags to go round. Yes, we're going to have some fun doing this.

On Tuesday 8th April we're going to the Movies at United Cinemas in Avalon... we're going to be sending more details by email about the night very soon. All you need to do is buy a ticket for yourself and someone you know (or more than one person), and bring them to the movies for a great night out. No bait and switch here... let your guest know that we're having a short panel after the film to talk about the themes of the movie we see.

Right now there are just 2 things you need to do...

1. Pray about coming to the Equip Session on 16th March and let Sturt know that you're coming.

2. Start thinking about who you can invite and when the movie tickets are ready for purchase, get yours before they all run out.

If you want to know more about this exciting film night or have question, just speak with Sturt. Looking forward to Meeting You at the Movies.
