Across your life, there will be some momentous occasions where you want your local church to be involved. A wedding, the birth of your children, and funerals are all significant life events that we would  feel privileged to be involved in.

St Davids at Palm Beach is a popular chapel for weddings and funerals. Its traditional architecture and attractive interior provide a beautiful setting for your service. The building seats up to 100  guests, and has a well-kept memorial garden outdoors for mingling.

St Marks at Avalon seats up to 250 guests over two tiered levels. A more contemporary facility, the lively and family friendly 10am service is ideal for christenings.

Weddings

Congratulations! Weddings are a beautiful celebration of love and commitment. We welcome enquiries  for marriage at either of our two church buildings, St Marks Avalon or St Davids Palm Beach.

For a complete wedding information pack, and to see whether your date is available, contact us.

To make the most of your day, couples who are married at Barrenjoey Anglican Churches meet with one of our ministers a few times before the day and complete a marriage preparation course. In some circumstances it is possible to simply hire one of our church buildings and bring your own minister to lead your wedding ceremony. Approved ministers will be ordained by a recognised Christian church.

If either you or your fiancee have been previously divorced, please let us know at the time of your application. Our ministers generally do not conduct weddings offsite.

Christenings

Christening services are an opportunity for parents to express their thanks to God for the birth of their children. As a church, we love to join with you in thanking God for your children and so all christenings are during our normal Sunday service at 10am at St Marks Avalon.

We recognize that each parent has a different experience of faith, and so we offer three different expressions of ‘christening’: infant baptism, dedication and thanksgiving. When we meet together with you to discuss these, we’ll encourage you to choose a service that reflects your understanding of God.

Come and join us one Sunday morning at St Marks and you’ll be able to get a feel for the style of our services and the church community. If you visit and think that St Marks is the right kind of church for your child’s service, we hold christening information afternoons every second month. To secure your place at the next information afternoon, contact us.

Funerals

Funerals are a time for your family to mourn together, and a Christian funeral service provides an opportunity to find peace and comfort in the midst of grief.

You can contact us to make arrangements, or do so through the funeral director of your choice.
