Pete Burrows (accountant), who co-hosts the money podcast on HOPE 103.2FM, is joining us on Saturday 14th Sept, to speak about how to manage our finances during these difficult times. Pete will cover a number of very practical money matters with opportunity to ask questions (anonymously) during a Q&A session.

Defining Gender Identity - With Patricia and Kamal Weerakoon

THE GENDER REVOLUTION

Trans, Bi, Ace, Enby, Cis, Pansexual, Agender, Intersex, Fluid. You may have heard these and other sex and gender labels from the LGBTQIA++++ spectrum. You may know someone who identifies by one or even a combination of these. Some of you or your children may feel challenged to select an identity label or a ‘preferred pronoun’ from this ever-growing neo-vocabulary. Others may be confused, even confronted by the plethora of terminology. If you are a Christian, you are probably feeling uncertain and unprepared to deal with the issues that arise.

This presentation will:

  • Describe the empirical research basis of the four categories of sex and gender

    (i) Biological sex

    (ii) Gendered behaviour

    (iii) Sexual orientation and

    (iv) Gender identity;

  • Discuss the narrative of sex and gender in current postmodern post-truth culture of radical individualism and transgender ideology; and

  • Consider what God has to say in the Bible on sex and gender. And how this contributes to a holistic and healthy life

    The presentation will explore the importance of speaking truth on sex and gender while maintaining compassion for those who struggle with sexual and gender concerns.

The theme for BASECAMP 2024 is Building Brotherhood. We will be thinking together about how God has designed us as men to link arms and encourage one another in our life with Jesus. We will be organising a carpool for the event and meeting for breakfast before heading into the city for the day.

Please register for the conference HERE, ensuring that you book tickets for the Sydney event on 3rd August (Not the Katoomba weekend) and let us know that you are coming by emailing Sue Dunn at mail@pittwateranglican.church

EQUIP WOMEN'S CONFERENCE - HOPE FOR THE WEARY

The book of Revelation paints a picture of heaven that sometimes raises more questions than it answers. What is certain, though, is that Jesus is on His throne, offering hope for his weary followers.

EQUIP returns in 2024, offering a one-day conference ready made for the women at your church. Gather a group and join us via live stream on Saturday 22 June 2024 to hear God’s Word to us from Revelation 1-5.

We will not be hosting an event at either church location, instead we are encouraging people to run smaller events in their homes.

If you would like to host or attend a livestream event please email Sue Dunn at mail@pittwateranglican.church
